0800 Pool Hire

Seeing the elaborate show gardens been sent to landfill post Ellerslie Flower Show made us think of the environmental impact of these supposedly ‘green’ displays. Pocock Design Environment entered the show ourselves in order to deliver a piece of work that is designed to be deconstructed. As a result, ‘0800 Pool Hire’ was created with materials that can be 100% recycled or reused. Even the ‘wetland weeds’ used was sent back to the council reserve – where they were dug up by prison labour originally – for composting. The recycled corrugated iron fence, which was spray-painted by street artists, was auctioned off with proceeds donated to Water Safety New Zealand.
