Awanuiarangi Campus

The design incorporates Iwi values into the landscape through carefully selected hard and soft landscape materials, so that the users can identify the deep connection between themselves and the environment they are in. It also focused on creating a variety of spaces that allow the students to engage in outdoor learning as well as pause and rest. Other elements such as sustainable stormwater management and culturally significant art installation were also used to add depth to the landscape and help integrate architecture with outdoor spaces.
