Blenheim Gateway
A flight of Tui's wheeling across the gateway into Blenheim was the winning concept for a national art competition developed by Pocock Design Environment. The design response incorporated the Wither Hills as a significant back drop of the design. The 5m Tui's were not only a visual anchor for the gateway but were representative of the Councils ‘Tui-to-town’ initiative to link Tui populations across the valley. This series of sculptural forms aims to remind people of the rich natural history and landscape of the area. The concept was the iconic Tui sculptures would be developed over a number of years in different gateway locations around the town including the airport gateway.
