Christchurch Urban Development Strategy
A complex master planning exercise that spans across three different councils (Christchurch, Waimakariri and Selwyn) and multiple local and regional authorities. The master planning workshops were held to look at the sustained future growth of approximately an additional 120,000 people. The questions addressed were 1. where they would go and 2. what infrastructure they would require from social, educational, housing and transportation perspective and how this would impact both current and future environmental and open space issues. Pocock Design Environment led the discussion on biodiversity enhancement and open space network improvement.
