This family home was set in an incredible woodland setting in the rolling hills of New Jersey, 45 minutes from New York City. The landscape creates different spaces such as wildlife meadows for the children to explore, a sunken stepped garden to the basement and a private courtyard with a flower cutting garden, barbeque area and fire pit. The natural underground water flow on the site was used to create wetland plantings and swales were used to direct water to the different gardens reducing the client’s irrigation requirements.
