Ranch Common Texas Master Plan

In order to conserve this unique historic landscape, the design of the subdivision was heavily based around existing features, which put movement network within floodway’s and housing under existing trees for passive cooling as well as for the trees’ protection. Other sustainable design initiatives were also employed throughout the design, such as productive landscapes which double as community meeting places; xeric landscapes for water conservation and ephemeral landscapes for passive recreation and stormwater management.
