Pocock Design Environment joined Urbanism+ (planning leads) to collaborated with the New Plymouth City Council on this regional economic growth initiative that considered New Plymouth, the surrounding settlements and major assets such as Mount Taranaki and the surrounding conservation land as catalyst for growth, Pocock design environment's role within the process was to explored both short and long term solutions to key issues around growth such as environmental degradation, flooding and rising sea levels. Pocock did the analysis on community amenities within the surrounding communities and looked at the options for strengthening local employment opportunities and amenities around land and tourism based initiatives.
